HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Ok, so we're a little behind...alright fine, alot behind! I've got many posts in the works (holidays, Caiti's BFF weekend in SA, Caiti's other BFF weekend in NYC, more holidays)...and I'll be gettin' to them soon! Promise!

I'm also thinking of going private or changing our blog address. I'm seeing way to many people visiting our site from international locations and I don't love that...since I don't know them! I'll keep you posted.

Until then...my boys showing love for their awesome Daddy-o! He is the man! :)

See How They Grow...

When I was pregnant with Gavin, a friend of ours asked me if he could one day invest in our child. Huh?! Yeah, that's right, invest! You see, this friend of ours wasn't as tall as Kurt or me, for that matter. He was just about 5'7"; not short by any means...but short if you're a Curran or a Summerhays! ;) This friend also married a lovely lady that happened to be 5 inches shorter than he! They had a few children; all on the small side. But this friend put those kids immediately into sports: soccer, football...whatever was coming up next! They did have some speed, that is true; but they didn't have the one thing their Daddy wanted: height!

So you see, he knew that since I am 5'10" and Kurt at 6'4"...we'd for sure grow some tall ones. And by tall, he was thinking 'professional football or basketball player' tall. So he wanted to invest in these future all-stars! :) Well, so far the boys have stuck to family tradition and kept the height thing going.

Here are their latest stats:

Gavin - 6yr.6mo:

Height: 51.25" - 97th%
Weight: 51lbs. - 59th% (we all know this fluctuates week-to-week for him; poor Gav) :(

Ryan - 5yr.3mo.:

Height: 49" - 97th%
Weight: 53lbs. - 85th% (we all know this does NOT fluctuate week-t0-week) :)

Wow...the "little" brother really isn't so little anymore (Not that he ever was little). In fact, these boys resemble their Uncle Connie and Uncle Seanie so much as kids. Conn was tall and solid (Ryan); Sean tall and thin (Gavin). And my boys kind of fight like Sean and Conn used to! :)

Hopefully these boys will grow up to be all-stars; but in whatever field they choose. They are good boys and I love them. I just won't love it so much when they pass me up in height; and we know that'll only be a few years away.

SNOW DAY!

So a few weeks ago, we heard on the news that there was a snow storm headed our way. They even dubbed it a "Winter Blast"! Boy were we ever excited to wake up and see mounds of snow on our lawn. But sadly, that was not the case. What we saw outside was green grass with a few specks here and there of something that looked kind of, maybe, possibly like snow. But that was it! It was merely a light dusting of snow. But the silliest part was that school was canceled! Because the school district we are in covers the entire county {it's big}, and some of that county had a few inches of snow, it was a done deal. So the boys enjoyed a day off of school, and I pulled my hair out.

Fast forward to last night...

I get a text message from a friend in my neighborhood asking if school would be canceled tomorrow. I was confused... I asked her why it would even be canceled. She then mentioned that it was SNOWING outside! {Mind you it was 10pm and the blinds were all closed.} I opened the back door, and sure enough there was snow softly falling from the dark sky. It looked heavenly. I wanted to bundle up in a snow suit {don't have one}, get a cup of Stephen's hot chocolate {from the Cocomotion, of course}, and sit on the deck. But instead, I got my jammies on and watched it from inside my warm, heated home. Kurt and the boys were asleep, so it was just me...enjoying the quiet {and the snow}! I went to bed with high hopes of seeing snow covering the outside of our property in the morning.

When my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning, I quickly turned on the TV and first thing I see is "School Canceled". Again?! It was for real, once again. I jumped out of bed and ran to the window only to find white...no green! I was so excited that I jumped back into my warm bed and slept for another 30 minutes. When Gavin woke up {always at 6am on. the. dot...with no alarm clock...crazy kid}, he came in my room to tell me he was awake {does this every morning}. I told him to go get dressed for school. Then I remembered...no school! I yelled down for him to go look out the window. I wish I could have gotten his response on tape. It was too cute. He cheered and cheered for the white stuff. This boy has wanted snow for so long. And now he has it. I asked him if he wanted to go and play in the snow; his response, "well, maybe after breakfast...and since there's no school today, I can play flight simulator all day!! So I'll play in the snow later." Yeah, I don't think so, buddy. This is where the fun part comes in for me. The boys sure love each other, but they really love each other more after they've been apart all day at school.

Uh oh, the sun is starting to really shing. We better get out and make a snowman before it all melts.

Ryan is "A Promise"

Hey y'all...yes, it's me...and yes, I'm waaaaay behind on this 'lil bloggy blog. I'll get to it sooner or later. But in the meantime, enjoy this cute video of the dudes; including Ryan singing some new songs he's leaned in preschool. I love the school he attends; it's a Methodist church preschool and he loves it! Mainly he just loves having something to do without his brother nearby. But he really does love school; especially his teacher, Miss Shae!

Enjoy the cuteness that is Ryan...and Gavin in the background making music!
