I've got JOY!

Today was Gavin's Joy School graduation! It was such a fun morning, celebrating the last time teaching, I mean, celebrating the achievements of these cute little kids!;) I really have enjoyed this co-op preschool teaching, and getting to know the kids and other Mom's. We've all become so close, it's like a family of a bunch of crazy, silly 4-year olds! To begin with, we had the kids in their little cap and gowns which they made last week. One of the Mom's, Catherine, took the time to cut up some cheap Walmart fabric and make the gowns...it was so cute! We turned on the classic graduation music, "Pomp and Circumstance" and the kids came down the stairs one at a time, while the Mom's introduced them, one by one. Gavin had the pleasure of saying the Pledge of Allegiance to start of the commencement. He was so proud of himself for memorizing it, and he held that flag high and proud! The kids then sang a fun song from the Joy School program, "I've Got Joy", which was hilarious, sweet and awesome! It was a total surprise! Another Mom taught it to the kids, and they all kept it a surprise for us. They had actions, and BIG smiles on their faces. Tears filled my eyes, and the rest of the other Moms. There was such sweetness in these kids today; not the usual fighting, crankiness, craziness, roudy, fighting over who gets to sit who (only the girls fighting, of course), and best of all...who's favorite color is pink (the 3 girls fought every week over who liked pink more...totally entertaining)!!

Gavin was the only boy there today, as another school-mate, Sevryn had moved away. I think he didn't mind; he got loads of attention from the girls!

After the ceremony, we had a CAFE RIO lunch! We found some copy kat recipes online, and decided to take a stab at it. Oh man...they were delish! We made the pork salad, and wow oh wow...y u m m y!

Since we've been home, Ryan and Gavin have been fighting over who gets to wear the cap and gown. Ryan is SO looking forward to preschool in the fall. We're not sure if we'll do the Joy School again, or enroll him in a tradtional preschool. Hopefully there will be other Mom's in the ward that want to participate...it would sure save some $$!

Keep checking out our blog for updates. I guess this is the way to go on keeping every one of our family and friends, in so many states, updated on our oh-so-interesting (yeah, not) family! We love you all!

And we're off!

Ok folks...this is it...and opportunity of a lifetime! You get to view our family blog which will contain: updates, photos and other interesting (crazy) thoughts we may have! Since we all live to far away from each other (why, why, why??!!), we thought it would be a swell idea to jump on the good 'ol blogging bandwagon, and keep in touch with our family and friends a little bit better than we have! So...sit down, grab a diet coke, and make yourself comfortable...because you're in for some real excitement! Ok...maybe we hyped it up a bit too much...just sit down and read!!
